Obestasis can be due to various disorders,including lymphatic, microcirculatory and venousdysfunction, as well as sarcopenia. It can be worsened byprotein deficiency, excessive salt intake, poor physicalconditioning, and tight clothing or foot wear. Obestasiscan also be iatrogenic, and can be a part of premenstrualsyndrome. Obestasis may lead to variation in bodyweight, and impair quality of life. The management ofobestasis is multifactorial, and includes nutritionaloptimization, lifestyle modification, rationalpharmacological therapy and reassurance.Keywords: Drug-induced oedema, iatrogenic, oedema,overweight, weight gain.
