DOI: https://doi.org/10.47391/JPMA.S3.GNO-11 Abstract Low-grade gliomas (LGG) are brain tumors of glial cellsorigin. They are grade 1 and grade 2 tumors according tothe WHO classification. Diagnosis of LGG is made throughimaging, histopathological analysis, and use of molecularmarkers. Imaging alone does not establish the grade ofthe tumor and thus a histopathological examination oftissue is crucial in establishing the definitehistopathological diagnosis. Clinical presentation variesaccording to the location and size of the tumor. Surgicalresection is strongly recommended in LGG overobservation to improve overall survival as surgery leads togreater benefit due to progression-free survival. Radiationhas shown benefits in LGG patients in randomizedcontrolled trials and chemotherapy with temozolomidehas also shown good results. This paper covers theprinciples of low-grade gliomas management andsummarizes the recommendations for the LMICs.Keywords: Temozolomide, survival, brain Neoplasms, glioma, neuroglia Downloads Full Text Article Published 2024-06-09 How to Cite Ahsan Ali Khan, Ayesha Akbar Waheed, Ali Azan Ahmed, Asim Hafiz, Adeeba Zaki, Ahmed Gilani, Faiza Urooj, Mohammad Hamza Bajwa, Pakistan Brain Tumour Consortium: (Authors list at the end of the supplement), & Syed Ather Enam.
