Action around Bethlehem Children with Disability (ABCD) is dedicated to improving the quality of life of those children and young adults who suffer from physical, mental and psychological disabilities in Palestine/The Occupied Territories and the Gaza Strip.
ABCD sponsors treatment for those in need regardless of gender, race or creed, helping them to reach their full potential, to live life with dignity and to take their rightful place in their community.
ABCD works through local Palestinian partners, the Bethlehem Arab Society for Rehabilitation (BASR) based in Beit Jala, The Sheepfold in Beit Sahour and two UNWRA Refugee Camps in Jalazone and Nour Shams.
The charity was founded over 30 years ago after our founder Trustee, Val Jourdan visited the region as a physiotherapist.Since then, the charity has helped over 10,000 children and funded over £2,000,000 to projects that enhance their lives and those of their families and communities.
Funding is constantly needed for new projects and to update and refurbish existing facilities.
